Arabia CSR Awards

Welcome to the 17th cycle of the Arabia CSR Awards. A homegrown platform that was instituted in 2008. The Arabia CSR Awards recognises and honours organisations in the Arab Region that demonstrate outstanding leadership and commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility and Sustainability. Hailed regionally and globally as the sustainability benchmark of the Arab Region, the award has grown and expanded its ambit considerably. Through 16 cycles, the Arabia CSR Awards has received more than 1,300 registered applications from more than a 1,100 organisations representing 43 industry sectors under 13 Categories, from 15 Arab countries in 3 different languages (Arabic, English & French). In the previous year, the Awards introduced 2 new categories that the organisations can apply to: the Small Public Sector Category and the Medium Public Sector Category.

Since its inception, the Arabia CSR Awards' credibility has earned it the trust and recognition of global and regional bodies such as the United Nations Global Compact, the United Nations Environment Programme and the League of Arab States. This support has ensured that the Awards are well rooted in the region and that it is in sync with the local context and the changes that are undergoing all over the region. This is reflected in the continued and steadily growing interest of organisations from different sectors and sizes to participate from all over the Arab world each year.

The criteria for the awards have been derived from global and regional frameworks and standards, namely, the UN Global Compact 10 Principles, GRI Standards, the European EFQM Business Excellence Model, the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals and more recently the alliance of the Global Investors for Sustainable Development.
