Emirates Environmental Group welcomes you to the 2nd cycle of the Arabia CSR Awards.

The Arabia CSR Awards Program instituted by the EEG will honour companies that demonstrate a clear vision, strategy and implementation of Corporate Social Responsibility.

The first cycle of the Arabia CSR Awards showcased companies from the GCC region, and the awards have been successful in their objectives to recognize and honour organizations in the UAE and the GCC that demonstrate outstanding leadership, sincerity and an on-going commitment in incorporating ethical values, compliance with legal requirements, respect for individuals, involvement in communities and protection of the environment into the way they do business.

The first cycle also highlighted the leadership capabilities of organizations based in the United Arab Emirates and the GCC countries, with winners such as ABB Group, Oman LNG, GPIC Bahrain, DAFZA, Jumeirah Group, ECAT (Environment centre for Arab Towns) and MBS among others.

The second cycle of the Arabia CSR Awards will be taking the awards a step forward with a more detailed set of questions that analyse the companies' initiatives in reducing their environmental impact. It will also compel organizations to enumerate their social and stakeholder value and take an indepth look at processes, products and performance.

The Awards uphold the vision of the UAE government to successfully engage the business communities in achieving sustained growth and social development, and encourage standards of excellence in social and environmental performance.

It is supported by the United Nations Global Compact and recognized on the global platform as an emerging initiative from the GCC Region.

A team of highly experienced business leaders, experts and think tanks are engaged as the Jury, and tasked with assessing the entries and selecting the winners. The awards are also ably supported by a technical committee and a group of international advisors.

Launched on May 18th, 2009, the first cycle of the Arabia CSR Awards will conclude on October 26th, 2009 with a felicitation of winners, short listed companies, sponsors and supporting organizations at the Awards Gala Ceremony.
